KellyLou Densmore

KellyLou Densmore, Esq., Director (she/her) has been a dedicated community organizer working at the intersections of racial and economic justice, gender equity and queer liberation since her teens.  Prior to her current role with SHARP she served as Legal Director for Transgender, Gender Variant and Intersex Justice Project (TGIJP) advocating for the human rights and dignity of currently and formerly incarcerated transgender people, including advocating for safety from sexual assault inside of prisons. 

KellyLou is an alum of the Women's Foundation of California's Women's Policy Institute, and Golden Gate University School of Law. After law school KellyLou was the Legal Advocacy Fellow at Justice Now where she represented people in California's women's prisons on compassionate release cases, and advocated for incarcerated people around medical care and health needs. As an attorney, she has worked with numerous law projects focused on protecting the rights of marginalized voices - including National Center for Lesbian Rights, Transgender Law Center, San Francisco Public Defender's Office, the Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights and more. KellyLou is currently a Board Member of the National Lawyers Guild, San Francisco Bay Area Chapter where she uses her lawyering skills to support social movements.

KellyLou was born and raised in the Bay Area.  She is a lover of plants, fresh air, and gluten free baking.


Dulce Garcia

Dulce Garcia, M.A., Policy Director (she/her) is a Queer Chicana born in Mexico City and raised in East Los Angeles. She graduated from UC Irvine with two Bachelor’s degrees and received her Master’s degree in Ethnic Studies from San Francisco State University. Her passion and commitment to serve underrepresented and underserved communities is rooted in an anti-oppression framework that is evident through her work experience, community organizing, and leadership.  Dulce is a CA State certified Rape Crisis Counselor and has served as a Bilingual Community Education consultant for San Francisco Women Against Rape for the past seven years (SFWAR). At SFWAR she provided holistic modes of healing, as well as interactive educational trainings while integrating rape crisis services, bystander intervention, and community education. She strongly believes that survivors are the experts of their own lives and that all forms of oppression must be eradicated in order to end sexual violence. As a survivor advocate, she has provided direct services to the LGBTQ+ community, youth, formerly incarcerated women, marginally housed individuals, and immigrant Latina domestic workers. As a consultant with over 20 years of leadership experience, she has provided professional development and technical assistance to State agencies, community-based organizations, and universities throughout the United States, advocating for self-empowerment through education that is non-judgmental and accessible to her audiences.

Creatively, Dulce is a filmmaker and dancer. Her film, “With Conviction”, won the Audience Choice Award at the Queer Women of Color Film Festival and screened in Paris, France at the International Lesbian and Feminist Film Festival. In her free time, you can catch her performing on stage with In Lak’ech Dance Academy – the only Queer and Transgender, Bachata and Salsa Dance Academy in the U.S.
